Seoul Safety Center Field Trip

Yesterday we went on a field trip to the Seoul Safety Center, which is a really high-tech building with a bunch of simulation rooms to teach kids how to be safe in an emergency situation, like fire, earthquake, and windstorm. It was pretty fun, and I do love avoiding teaching science whenever I can :D

The kids had to point the fire extinguishers at the fire on the screen to put it out
There was this cool fire fighting simulation game where the kids had to aim the fire extinguishers at the fire on the TV screen & if they did it right, the fire would go out.

OMG SO CUTE
50% of every field trip is comprised of lining kids up and yelling at them to be cute so teachers can post the pictures on the internet for the moms to see how great a time their kids had.

lunchtime chaos
Lunchtime! All Korean kids bring these little mats to sit on during lunchtime whenever they go on a field trip. Kids pack lunches of kimbap, fruit, chips, etc and it's totally normal for teachers to eat whatever we want right out of their lunchboxes. Just another example of how communal Korean culture is, especially when it comes to food.

More photos from the field trip are here.
