Elephant Island

After a few hours of travel by bus and ferry, we arrived on Koh Chang yesterday afternoon. We didn't have a specific plan for where to stay once we got there, but we ended up going to "White Sands Beach" to look for a bungalow. Within a few minutes we found an AWESOME place that would hold the 4 of us. It was a little pricier than we were hoping for, but it was just too nice to pass up. Our own bungalow within 20 yards of the beach, where there are plenty of delicious restaurants and cheap drinks to choose from? Yes, please.

We celebrated our first night on the island in style :)

Today has been spent doing nothing, which has been so completely wonderful. I've been working on my tan (don't worry, not burning!), started reading Water For Elephants (I like it so far), and eating delicious DELICIOUS food. We went to a seafood barbecue place for dinner that was out of control. Basically you just pick whatever you want from the table, then they cook it for you on the grill. We got red snapper, mussels, fresh corn, chicken shish kabobs and some fried rice. Holy mother was it good.

They had so much awesome, fresh food to choose from. I think we'll definitely be going there again before we leave this island.

Here are some more pics of the area nearby our bungalow...not too shabby, eh? :)

After nearly 3 years of no sick days, and short vacations when the school decided to close, you certainly deserve a vacation.
Your photographs are great - that new camera is getting a workout!
